The seed lies in the dirt

Silently sensing

Biding his time

Before unfurling furious activity

Fervently reaching upwards and downwards

Stretching stems and leaves

towards warmth and light

Pushing roots tender but tenacious

Towards minerals and moisture

This is not desperation

But simply being alive
